Cini Boeri was born in Italy, in 1924. She obtained a degree in Architecture Milan’s Polytechnic Institute de Milão, graduating in 1951. After Graduation, Boeri worked in Marco Zanuso’s Studio untill 1963, when she became a “ freelance designer”. In 1979, she started her own Design Business in Milan. She worked in the search for alternative materials with the intent to produce less expensive furnishings. She collaborated with companies such as Knoll, Artflex and Arteluce, among others. She received the “Compasso d’Oro” Awards 1970 and 1979. Many distinguished examples of her work can be found in museums and international exhibitions. While she was best known for her designs in furniture- including the sets: “Bobo” (1967) and “Strip” (1972), she has also designed exhibition halls and a number of prefabricated houses in Japan (1983).
